"When your feet get itchy, your body starts trembling and finest reggae music hits your eardrums, there's only one explanation: the Voodoo Moon is rising. When it finally shines on you with its bright horns, tight rhythm section and soulful vocals, its power makes you shake and dance."

Voodoo Moon was founded in Berlin in 2005, and has since been producing finest offbeat music and bringing dancing crowds to Europe's clubs and festivals. They play reggae in a rub-a-dub and steppaz style, but in their own distinctive way. Throughout their many years of playing a unique combination of traditional Jamaican ska, reggae and rocksteady with the modern influences of roots-reggae and jazz, these seven musicians have created their very own original sound. Over the tight rhythm-section of drums, bass, keys and guitar glows a horn section of trombone, trumpet and tenor-saxophone, supporting powerful and lyrical vocals.

Voodoo Moon's first album "Get On!" - an invitation to hop on to the Voodoo train - was released in 2008. After cruising through the offbeat world by steam engine, they headed for the moon and created their very own moon station. "Moon Base", their second album, was released in 2010, once again on their own Independent-Label "Get On! Records". From this moon base Voodoo Moon will keep sending heavy sound waves to keep the earth vibrating...
"It's our voodoo working!"

Feines Ding! "

[ This Berlin band knows how to create different atmospheres in a versatile way. Early-reggae, ska, roots, rocksteady - appealing shaking rhythms and some really good technical work. Reminiscences of Ernest Ranglin, Lee Perry, Derrick Morgan and many other good things, at the same time unique and independent. Nice job! ]

[ Musically especially precious, a very broad horizon and a fiery finish... Decrypted that means relaxed rocksteady and reggae, clearly traditionally oriented ska and a good portion of ska-jazz references in Eastern Standard Time-style. In addition many brilliant musical ideas, harmonized vocals and a sound-construction that keeps the dancers moving! ]
